Why Dance Physiotherapy?

As a dancer, you need someone who understands what you do.

You need a physiotherapist who knows the demands of rehearsals, competitions, and auditions. Someone who won’t simply tell you to “just rest,” but who recognises the importance of staying active while supporting your recovery and performance.

Injuries can be devastating and sometimes even career-ending. That’s why it’s vital to understand your body, how it moves, and how to spot early signs of imbalance or strain. Our sessions are designed to do exactly that.

Services include:

  • Dance assessment and screening
  • Pre-pointe assessments
  • Flexibility and mobility training
  • Strengthening tailored to the dancer’s body
  • Pilates and core conditioning

All our assessments and treatments are supported by Strength4Dance, our free educational platform. It offers dancers valuable insights on safe flexibility, strength work, core training, and nutrition tips.

Why Work with Sally?

Sally understands dance because she lived it. A former professional dancer, Sally has first hand experience of what’s involved in auditions, training, performance, injury, and recovery. With over 23 years’ experience as a physiotherapist, Sally has worked with dancers in Sydney, Melbourne, and now Nottinghamshire. She has supported performers in musicals such as Evita and West Side Story, and collaborated with elite groups like Bangarra Dance Theatre, Brent Street Performing Arts School and MADD here in Nottingham. She has presented at leading dance teacher conferences in both Australia and the UK, sharing expertise on strength training and safe dance practice.
